our story

Trove’s founders, Lauren and Irayna, created Trove from their passion for vintage brands that stand the test of time.

When the two met in a preschool parking lot, it was fashion lust at first sight. They bonded over cool old clothes, the economics and sustainability of a vintage wardrobe, and life and motherhood in Sonoma. Before long, the idea of Trove was born and destiny laid a path. When a retail space opened in the Viejo Adobe Building on the Sonoma Plaza, their dream became reality. After all, what could be better than a two-hundred-year-old historical monument to house their collection of treasures? The thick adobe walls add an allure of adventure and character that pairs perfectly with the eclectic collection personally curated by Irayna and Lauren.

Lauren Herrera grew up in Northern California and has been a vintage enthusiast since discovering her grandmother's wardrobe from the 60's & 70's in the attic when she was in 8th grade. Decades of thrifting throughout high school and college paired with a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Textile design only deepened the obsession. She owned a screen printing and graphic design business before returning to school to earn a Masters degree in interior architecture and design. She has been lead designer at a Petaluma-based design firm for the last 5 years in addition to heading projects under her own design firm, L.Herrera Interiors.

Irayna Basta is a Glen Ellen native that studied fashion marketing in San Francisco and cut her teeth in the fashion industry in NYC. She worked as a stylist for Vogue Japan, Tory Burch & Victoria’s Secret before moving back to California to launch her own vintage brand & natural dye house. After 10 years of selling & curating vintage under the moniker Born to Roam Vintage, she was ready to bring the business to her hometown.
